1Lifedirect was launched on 14 March 2006 with the vision of transforming and improving the South African life insurance industry into something that is customer friendly, service-orientated, educational and well-informed.
The company was originated during a turbulent time for the life insurance industry. Consumer confidence was at an all time low and transformation was required. 1Lifedirect was just the Company to take this challenge on.
The company is 100% owned by Budget Holdings Limited (BHL), a multinational company based in Europe. Although its parent Company is based in Europe, 1Lifedirect is proudly South African and particularly mindful of the needs of the South African consumer. 1Lifedirect is committed to skills development and as such, has a clearly defined, well-implemented empowerment policy. Not only will 1Lifedirect bring value to the South African economy by offering a superior product, but it also intends to enhance the consumers overall experience by providing cost-effective and competitive premiums and comprehensive life insurance packages.
